Belgium / IT Architect
Function:
Define, design and maintain architectural standards and guidelines to be able to consistently fulfill current and foreseeable requirements.
Evaluate requests and analyse needs for new significant project initiatives from an architecture perspective, propose possible solutions, document the feasibility and economic consequences of the proposed alternatives and select the best solution aligned with the strategy.
Provide direction to and cooperate with the project teams in the modeling of the business needs and the design of technical solutions, in the validation of the design and eventually the implementation of solutions based on the architectural standards and guidelines. Coach the designers to ensure the solution architecture integrity and maintain the different customer environments.
Define and document the overall architecture of a system and the rationale behind the balancing of business, technical and functional constraints in cooperation with other architects within a project, through the delivery of a component and logical deployment model definition.
Develop the medium term technological vision and roadmap for the assigned technologies.
Perform technological market watch to stay up to date with technological evolutions and opportunities.
Profile:
You have minimum a bachelor degree in computer sciences and more than 5 year of experience in System Engineering and/or consultancy.
Flexibility, stress resistance, customer focus and being a team player are key.
You have good communication, documentation and presentation skills.
You easily adapt in a new environment and like to interact with customers and suppliers.
You are able to lead a small project team.
You are proficient in Dutch and English.
You are willing to travel to customers in Belgium for assignments.
You have good knowledge of:
• Microsoft NT4/Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Windows 2008 en Windows XP , thin client solutions
• Microsoft applications such as, Active Directory, Exchange, SQL Server, ISA Server, Internet Information Server, .NET server, Sharepoint, XML Webservices, TCP/IP
• Project Methodologies (Prince2, PMP, ...) is an asset
You're an expert in virtualization technologies:
• VMware Workstation and ESX server
• Citrix, Xenserver
• Certificates are a plus.
